KUPWARA,JULY 24: Deputy Commissioner (DC), Kupwara  Imam Din today Kick started Sale cum distribution of quality hybrid vegetable seedlings among progressive farmers of district Kupwara at Organic Vegetable Demonstration Cum Training Centre (DCTC), Department of Agriculture Kupwara.


Deputy  Commissioner, on the occasion,  directed concerned officers for promotion of vegetable production in the  district through area expansion under vegetables.

He stressed on viable employment opportunities existing in the agriculture sector and urged the rural educated  unemployed youth to come forward and avail benefits from various schemes for self employment.


 Deputy Commissioner directed Chief Agriculture Officer, Nazir Ahmad Wani(CAO) for promotion of High yielding/High Value vegetable crops in the district to achieve Prime Ministers goal of doubling the framers income by 2022.


             CAO, on the occasion,  informed  that the department can supply over 6 lac vegetable seedlings for forthcoming Rabi season in three  cycles. He also appraised DC about the need and scope of cold storage for storing of surplus quantity of vegetables.

Brigadier Sajjanhar Visits NCC Annual Training Camp at Udhampur

  Aadil Akbar  Udhampur, August 29: Brigadier Deepak Sajjanhar, SM, Group Commander of NCC Group Headquarters Srinagar, visited the Annual Training Camp of 7 J&K Battalion NCC Kupwara at the Zorawar Training Academy, Udhampur. The camp, which began on August 23 and will conclude on September 1, 2025, holds special significance as it is the first training camp organized by the newly raised battalion.
