The victory march included Army officers, Civil dignitaries and Participants of 1971 War carrying the flame to military station Naugam where it was given a grand welcome.

Handwara 03 July :In conjunction with the nation wide celebration to mark the 50th year of victory in the 1971 Indo-Pak  war ,  TMG Brigade organised a grand reception of the victory flame at Military station Naugam. 


The flame was received by Brigadier KDS Jhala,Commander at  Naugam.



 As part of the year-long Swarnim Vijay Varsh Celebrations, Four Victory Flames were lit by the Hon’ble Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi at National War Memorial on 16 December 2020, which were sent to four cardinal directions. One of the Victory Flames travelling to North was brought to TMG Brigade at  Nowgam today on 3rd of July. 


The Victory Flame was brought to Kandy Bridge  and handed over for mile long Victory Run till the Brigade Gate.  


A wreath laying ceremony with full honours and great ardours by War Veterans at Naugam  was performed for the arrival of Victory Flame. 


Last but not the least  ‘Punjabi Dance’ performed by Soldiers  took the audience by awe. 


The Honourable War Veterans were felicitated by Commander TMG Brigade  alongwith SP Handwara and DDC member Mawer Khurshid Ahmad Dar in recognition of their valuable sacrifices and in achieving the glorious victory in the 1971 Indo-Pak War. 


The emotions of patriotism were running high and the chanting of Bharat Mata Ki Jai was filled all over the place.



The event was attended by around 350 civilians including  ex servicemen,  who took part with great zeal and enthusiasm. 



SP handwara Sandeep singh IPS, DDC member  mawer Khurshid Ahmad Dar, SHO Qalamabad sheikh  javid Ahmad chowki officer SOG Qalamabad Nazir Ahmad, and Sarpanchs  were the other  dignitaries present on the occasion.
