  Case of Grenade attack on Langate CRPF camp solved, 03 OGWs arrested* Handwara During investigation of the case of Grenade attack on CRPF Camp Langate , in the evening of 26 Aug 2021, on the basis of reliable input from JKP, Handwara a joint CASO was launched by parties including 30 RR & SOG, Handwara  and during detailed search of houses, one OGW namely Ishfaq Ah Dar S/o Wali Mohd Dar Shatpora Mohalla, Langate was apprehended.  On his disclosure the Joint CASO team recovered Arms and Ammunition from his possession.  Ashiq Mir, aide Of Kashmir Crown Editor Shahid Imran #Arrested In Extortion Case   Srinagar: Police on Saturday arrested Ashiq Mir, one of the associates of Imran Ahmad Ganai (aka Shahid Imran), running social media page –Kashmir Crown—in connection with case of exhortation, officials said.   They said a case under IPC sections of 384 (extortion) and 506 (criminal intimidation) was registered in Baramulla against Ashiq Mir. Confirming the arrest, a police official said that further investigations are underway. Official sources said that Rs one lakh “extortion money” has been recovered so far from him.  *Youth Allegedly Murdered Over Love Affair with a Girl in Shopian* A 21-year-old youth was allegedly murdered over a love affair in the Shopian district of South Kashmir on Tuesday morning. Speaking to The Kashmiriyat a Police official said that the body of Shahid Ahmed Ganie son of Manzoor Ahmed Ganie, a resident of the Urpora area in Shopian Nagbal was found in the Tukrwangam area of Shopian. The Locals called the Police who rescued the body and have taken it for autopsy.  75th Independent day celebration held at Melyal By 87Bn BSF.  Aazadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav. Volleyball match played between 87 Bn BSF and Govt. Boys Higher secondry school Handwara. Aadil Akbar Handwara On the occasion of 75th independence day celebration " Azadi ka amrit mahotsav" a volleyball match has been organized at 87 Bn BSF THQ Handwara.  Sh. Sanjay Sharma, Commandant of 87 Bn BSF also witnessed the event.  Match was conducted in between Govt Boys Higher secondry school Handwara V/S BSF. The volleyball match won by the Government Boys Higher secondry school Handwara. After the match medals and Trophies were awarded to the players of both teams and refreshment arranged for all.  *Full dress rehearsal for 75th Independence Day  was held at DPL Kupwara.* *Kupwara:* 13 August 2021,        The full dress rehearsal for *75th* Independence Day celebration was held at *DPL Kupwara* in which ADC Handwara *Nazir Ahmed Mir* unfurled the national flag, inspected the parade and took salute at the march past. *ASP Kupwara Shri Raja Zuhaib-JKPS*, DySP DAR Shri *Sarfaraz Bashir-JKPS* and other senior officers of civil administration, police department and other concerned were present on the occasion.  *15 grenades, 5 pistols recovered from North Kashmir’s Karnah area* Kupwara, Aug 12 : Joint Forces Thursday morning recovered pistols and grenades besides bullets near a government school in Karnah area of North Kashmir’s Kupwara district.     The recovery was made near Government High School Hajitara Karnah.     Sources told news agency that local police and soldiers during a search operation recovered 5 pistols, 150 pistol rounds, 15 grenades, 5 magazines, 3 detonators and a packet of brown sugar with 999 mark.    Police in this regard registered a case and set investigation into motion.

 *Body of Elderly Unsound Man Recovered from Puhroo in Handwara* Kupwara, Aug 4 : Body of an elderly mentally challenged man was recovered from river Puhroo in Lokipora Kralgund in Handwara on Wednesday morning, officials said.  They identified the deceased as one 75-year-old Ghulam Ahmad Mir alias Amm Darvesh, a resident of Bunpora Langate Handwara.  He had gone missing from his home for nearly a week now, they told GNS.  The body has been lifted from the site and taken to District Hospital Handwara for medical examination, they further said.   * 70 bottles of liquor found from vehicle at Kalaroos Kupwara * Kupwara, Aug 3   Police and army during a joint naka at Madmadave Kalaroos Kupwara crossing on Monday intercepted a vehicle and found 70 bottles of liquor, officials said.   They said soldiers from 41RR and Police during checking of the Xylo vehicle (No: JK01S- 2525) found the illegal liquor and recovered 70 bottles. The driver Ghulam Mohammad Ganie (35) of Dogerpora Kalaroos Kupwara has been arrested and the vehicle seized, they said. A senior police officer confirming the recovery and the arrest of the driver told GNS that further investigations are going on. He said that a case (FIR No. 276/2021) under section 48 Excise Act stands registered in this connection. (GNS)
