 BJP activist javid Qureshi sit on  protest, demanding restoration of damaged Batagund mawer bridge.




Handwara, Sep  25:  Scores of people at Batagund mawer Handwara in north Kashmir on Saturday held a protest sit-in here demanding repairment of Batagund bridge which they said is defunct for the last 8 months.


R&B  department has neglected the area.


“This is our third sit-in protest in the recent days but the department seems not to be bothered at all,” they said, adding, “The continuous protests won’t alleviate our sufferings; we urge concerned the higher officials to look into our genuine and long pending demand.”


The protest demonstration against R&B department was also joined by the  BJP activist javid Qureshi who said the demand of locals is genuine and needs to be addressed at the earliest.


Javid Qureshi  said he will take up the issue with the local administration and assured to resolve the problem within a short time.
