ICDS Rajwar Handwara on today organised a day-long awareness-cum-workshop on Poshan Abhiyan with an aim to sensitize the field workers of ICDS about the importance of balanced diet.


Programme was wholly organised by Senior Supervisor Aabida war along with the team of dedicated supervisors.


 ICDS Project Officer Rajwar  Aabida war , Director Skill development Kupwara Dr Iqbal  , CDPO Rajwar Shugufta Parveen,  Suprieindent Dist Hospital Handwara Dr Nissar,  HOD Commarce Boys Higher secondry school Handwara Kifayutullah Shah,  etc were available on this ocassion.



 During the concluding sessions experts deliberated upon the importance of a balanced diet for the children to overcome the malnutrition issue. They urged the workers to focus on broad themes including antenatal care, optimal breastfeeding (early and exclusive), complementary feeding, anemia, growth monitoring, girls - education, diet, right age of marriage, hygiene and sanitation, eating healthy - food fortification.



Aabida War said poshan Abhiyan or National Nutrition Mission is Government of India’s flagship programme to improve nutritional outcomes for children, pregnant women and lactating mothers.


She said the Abhiyaan directs the attention of the people towards the problem of malnutrition and addresses it in a mission-mode. 


Abida war  stressed on providing quality nutrition to the children and directed the officers to ensure that a balanced diet is provided to the children in Anganwadi centres.

Brigadier Sajjanhar Visits NCC Annual Training Camp at Udhampur

  Aadil Akbar  Udhampur, August 29: Brigadier Deepak Sajjanhar, SM, Group Commander of NCC Group Headquarters Srinagar, visited the Annual Training Camp of 7 J&K Battalion NCC Kupwara at the Zorawar Training Academy, Udhampur. The camp, which began on August 23 and will conclude on September 1, 2025, holds special significance as it is the first training camp organized by the newly raised battalion.
