In consonance with the ongoing celebrations for *‘Azaadi Ka Amrit Mohatsav’* & *'Swarnim Vijay Varsh’*, Kandi Battalion under aegis of Charkut Garrison of Indian Army Organised a day-long medical camp at Govt High School Kigam to treat the sick and needy from the remote areas in the vicinity of Kandi & Kigam villages. 

Leading specialist doctors drawn from various Army hospitals and civil administration were pooled in for the camp to render on the spot consultation and treatment to the patients. 


The medical camp also provide facility of Veterinary doctor for treatment of animal of locals belonging to these remote areas and free medicines were provided to the animals for their well being in the winter months. 

The medical camp, was organised under Operation Sadbhavna to provide medical care to the villagers in the area at their doorsteps. 


A total of 952 locals icluding children, women and elderly people, visited the camp and consulted the doctors. Besides medical consultations and check ups, medicines were also provided to the people.


Villagers appreciated the initiative taken by the Indian Army and expressed hope that such types of medical camps are organised across  Union Territory on a regular basis.
