In a region where basketball is not widely known, the students of Aushutosh Army Goodwill School Budkot have achieved something truly remarkable by excelling in the sport. Their victory in the intra AGS basketball championship is a testament to their hard work, dedication, and talent.


Basketball has traditionally taken a backseat to other sports in Kashmir especially North Kashmir, making Aushutosh Army Goodwill School's success even more significant. The team's passion for the game and their relentless pursuit of excellence have put them in the spotlight, inspiring others to explore and embrace the sport. 



By showcasing their skills and emerging as champions, the students of Aushutosh Army Goodwill School Budkot have not only made their school proud but have also put Kashmir on the map for basketball. Their achievement serves as a beacon of hope and motivation for aspiring athletes in the region.



The event was organized by AAGS Budkot in collaboration with 21RR/7 Sector RR,  which was part of the Activity Calendar 2023 issued by Headquarter 15 Corps where 9 Army Goodwill Schools from North and Central Kashmir participated, with AGS Hanzik and AAGS Budkot reaching the finals and AAGS Budkot becoming the Champions of the tournament.


 Throughout the tournament all teams enjoyed the competition and played with great spirit.



 Principal of the school Mr Khalid Jalal commended  both the teams for their exceptional performance  emphasizing the importance of nurturing and supporting unconventional sports in Kashmir. They expressed their hope that this victory will encourage more students to explore basketball and other lesser-known sports, fostering a culture of sportsmanship and healthy competition.



The triumph of Aushutosh Army Goodwill School Budkot in the intra AGS basketball championship 2023  is a testament to the power of determination, teamwork, and the pursuit of one's passion. Their strategic plays, impeccable defense, and remarkable shooting accuracy set them apart from their competitors.  The star players of Aushutosh Army Goodwill School Budkot, including Adil Nazir, Usman Abbas, and Idrees Shafi showcased their exceptional skills and led the team to victory. Their remarkable agility, precision, and sportsmanship was evident in every match, leaving opponents struggling to keep up. Adil Nazir was awarded the player of the tournament.


The Intra AGS basketball championship has not only highlighted the incredible talent within Aushutosh Army Goodwill School Budkot but has also fostered a sense of camaraderie and healthy competition among the participating schools. It serves as a testament to the power of sports in bringing people together and inspiring greatness.

At the end of the tournament the champions were  honored in a special ceremony, where they received the championship trophy and recognition for their outstanding achievement.

Brigadier Sajjanhar Visits NCC Annual Training Camp at Udhampur

  Aadil Akbar  Udhampur, August 29: Brigadier Deepak Sajjanhar, SM, Group Commander of NCC Group Headquarters Srinagar, visited the Annual Training Camp of 7 J&K Battalion NCC Kupwara at the Zorawar Training Academy, Udhampur. The camp, which began on August 23 and will conclude on September 1, 2025, holds special significance as it is the first training camp organized by the newly raised battalion.
