 Red Wings Handwara lifts Lolab premier league Trophy at Lolab Kupwara Aadil Akbar Kupwara: The Indian Army has always been at the forefront in nurturing local talent in various fields including games and sports. Cricket is a game which is very passionately played in the heartland of Lolab and is very close to the heart of each and every Lolabian. The first ever Lolab Premier League T-10 Girls' Cricket tournament was organised by the Indian Army as a precursor event to the Lolab Mela 2023. The matches started on 11 October 2023 and were played on a Knock Out Basis. The final match of the tournament was played on 19 October 2023 at Chandigam Sports complex between Wonder Girls Sogam and Red Wings Handwara and had supporters thronging the venue in huge masses to cheer and support their respective favourite team.  LOLAB MELA TREKKING EXPEDITION 2023 CONDUCTED BY 28RR AT KUPWARA  "A walk in nature, walks the soul back home." - Mary Davis AADIL AKBAR KUPWARA: Indian Army as a part of Lolab Mela organised Trekking Expedition on 14-15 Oct 2023.* The expedition flagged off from Dherian, Lolab and destination being Giyun Gali. *Total of 83 adventure loving people participated in the be*. The trek gave them all an opportunity to walk through the unexplored heights with serene view throughout the trek.  Fun games were organised at Giyun Gali which included Horse Riding, Tug of War, Air Rifle Shooting & Rug Race. Camp fire with Musical Night was the Icing on the cake as the beats from the band of Younis Lolabi got mixed with the serene weather of Giyun Gali and dance steps of the trekkers synchronised with the music which made the evening more wonderful.  INDIAN ARMY LAUNCHES FIRST EVER T-10 GIRLS' CRICKET TOURNAMENT AT LOLAB. AADIL AKBAR  KUPWARA: With an aim to promote sports talent amongst girls of the area and to provide the young talent a chance to showcase their skills, Indian Army inaugurated the Lolab Premier League (LPL) KnockOut Cricket Tournament at Chandigam, Lolab on 11 October 2023 as part of the LOLAB FEST - 2023.  The tournament comprises of 16 teams from all over Kupwara including Handwara and the nearby district of Baramulla. The tournament is being played at Chandigam Sports Complex Cricket Ground, Lolab, Kupwara . The inaugural match was played today between the teams of Handwara Strikers* and Legends Cricket Academy, Handwara The team players displayed unmatched enthusiasm and sportsmanship. The locals and elders of the nearby villages have appreciated the efforts of Indian Army in providing this opportunity and nurturing the talent of playing cricket among Girls.

 Aseem XI Lifts Kargil Vijay Diwas Women’s Cricket Tournament at Lolab  AADIL AKBAR  KUPWARA: As part of Kargil Vijay Diwas Rajat Jayanti Mahotsav, Women Cricket Friendly matches are being organised by Indian Army alongwith Aseem Foundation, Pune from 08 to 12 October 2023 at Sopore, Chandigam and Hajin. These matches are receiving overwhelming response across Kashmir. The first match was played between Aseem Eleven and Sopore Thunder Strikers at Subhana Stadium, Sopore.  In a keenly contested match Aseem XI were put to bat first & they set up a target of 99 runs. Sopore Thunder Strikers emerged victorious by Five wickets.  In the second match of the thrilling cricket tournament on 10 Oct 2023, Aseem Eleven won the toss and elected to field first, putting Lolab Strikers to bat. Gujjar & Bakerwall Mela Celebrated Amid  Huge Fanfare in Keegam Kupwara AADIL AKBAR  KUPWARA,8Oct 2023: With the aim to fraternise the nomadic tribes with Indian Army and the social stream as well as to encourage sense of belonging & togetherness Indian Army organised Gujjar & Bakarwal mela at Chak Kigam.  Gujjar & Bakarwal mela was an arrangement of cultural & sports activities performed by locals and school children. The mela commenced with a horse race followed by cultural performances from school students of various schools of the area.  During the event various fun filled activities and games were also organised.
