 Poshan Abhiyan programme under poshan Maah 2021, themes organised in ICDS Project Rajwar conclusion session held at  Town Hall Handwara. Aadil Akbar Handwara ICDS Rajwar Handwara on today organised a day-long awareness-cum-workshop on Poshan Abhiyan with an aim to sensitize the field workers of ICDS about the importance of balanced diet.  BJP activist javid Qureshi sit on  protest, demanding restoration of damaged Batagund mawer bridge. Handwara, Sep  25:  Scores of people at Batagund mawer Handwara in north Kashmir on Saturday held a protest sit-in here demanding repairment of Batagund bridge which they said is defunct for the last 8 months. R&B  department has neglected the area. “This is our third sit-in protest in the recent days but the department seems not to be bothered at all,” they said, adding, “The continuous protests won’t alleviate our sufferings; we urge concerned the higher officials to look into our genuine and long pending demand.” The protest demonstration against R&B department was also joined by the  BJP activist javid Qureshi who said the demand of locals is genuine and needs to be addressed at the earliest. Javid Qureshi  said he will take up the issue with the local administration and assured to resolve the problem within a short time.

 Beti Bachao Beti Padhao programme held at  Mawar. Aadil Akbar Handwara Indian Army in the Mawar Valley organised an interactive session for the girl students at Army Goodwill School, Naugam under the aegis of Naugam Brigade. In the conduct, three prominent Self Independent ladies of the society were speakers for the occasion. A teacher, health worker and a tailor. The three ladies shared their stories of hard work and passion and how they made themselves independent by studying and working hard during their formative years.  These ladies are the earning members of the family and an inspiration for all local girls in the Mawar Valley. Students had an interactive session and asked their queries about higher studies and carrier making in Kashmir in specific.

 *47 RR Bn assists in recovery of Scorpio vehicle fallen into Nala in Kupwara.* Aadil Akbar  Handwara A scorpio vehicle with regn No. HR 30 K 3734 which belongs to Mr Bilal Ahmad Sheikh, resident of Arampura toppled and fell into the adjacent Nala near Nutnussa village of Kupwara district today at 0900 hrs while the owner was going to Handwara. There was no injury reported however the scorpio was damaged. A recovery team of 47 RR Bn rushed to the site for the assistance and recovered the vehicle from the Nala and handed over to the owner. The locals present at site and the owner of the vehicle thanked the Indian Army for its efforts and much needed on site assistance.

 Poshan Maah 2021 events organised at large scale in ICDS Project Rajwar. Handwara Today a mega programme of poshan Maah 2021 held at Handwara in which many ICDS workers and also many childrens were present in this programme.       Poshan Abhiyan programme is being implemented with zeal.and zest by the Supervisors of Project along with Awws/AWHs of the project.    Programmes organised at AWC and panchayat levels in which number of Community members/Beneficiaries and PRIs. On this ocassion Shugufta parveen CDPO Rajwar and  senior and dedicated   ICDS Supervisor  Abida Huseen war were the main organiser of this event. Talking to Abida war about the programme expressed her pledge to fulfill the commitment regarding poshan Abhiyan programme.      To identify SAM/MAM and stunted children is the main aim of the programme.

 Indian Army holds Road Safety & Traffic Rules awareness  at Mawar Handwara. Aadil Akbar Handwara In the series of awareness programme conducted to improve the lifestyle of the youth of Mawar Valley. A patrol of Indian Army organised a “Road Safety & Traffic Rule” awareness for ‘Lawoosa Village’. The patrol first disseminated important instructions and information about road safety and rules to be followed while driving.  The same points were later enacted out by the youth, where youth stopped the vehicles moving on road and made them aware about the importance of use of seat belt, speed limits, mobile usage while driving, importance of helmets for bikers.  Traffic discipline was also told to the villagers for the smooth flow of traffic.  Youths participated in the awareness programme and it was a good learning for one and all.

The mela witnessed an overwhelming response as over 100 local farmers thronged from the surrounding regions of Rajwar, Handwara, Mawar, Sopore and Rafiabad. The aim of this Mela was to impart the training of ultra high density  technique to  farmers. It is imperative to highlight here that the land in North Kashmir is suitable for cultivation of pome fruit, stone fruit and berries. However, due to lack of education and technical knowledge, the farmers are resorting to low yield methods of cultivation which produce 16 to 17 plants per kanal of land.  _*Married before days, man ends life in Handwara*_ HANDWARA : A Newly married BA Student ended his life by consuming some poisonous substance in north Kashmir’s Kupwara district, sources said today. “In an attempt to end his life, a 27-year-old man ( irfan Ahmad War) resident of Hardona Tarathpora Ramhall consumed some poisonous substance at his home,” reports said. he was rushed to DH handwara where he breathed his last, Reports said. Aadil Akbar Handwara In a series of Med Awareness Drives for the youth of Mawar Valley, today a patrol of Indian Army conducted a First Aid Lecture cum Demonstration of carrying out First Aid for the youth of Lawoosa Vill.  Dressing a wound/ cut, handling a fractured limb, first aid for fainted patient, insect and reptile bites, steps for providing CPR, all these were demonstrated to the youth.  The staff of PHC, Lawoosa also assisted in disseminating the first aid techniques to the youth. The patrol suggested the people to keep a small first aid box at home to handle an emergency situation.  First aid saves life, Its for everyone & everywhere.

 *School building gutted in Kupwara fire incident* Handwara, Sep 8,  A government school building was gutted in a fire incident in Gund Kamal village of North Kashmir’s Kupwara district on Wednesday evening.      Police sources said that Government Middle School building located at Gund kamal , Kralgund caught fire on Wednesday evening. They said that fire caused damage to the building.     Both local residents and fire fighter reached the spot and doused the fire.     A police official said that prima facie it seems short circuit was the cause of the fire.

Sources told the news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO) that Geelani, 92, developed serious complications on Wednesday afternoon and breathed his last in this evening. “He had chest congestion and breathing problems. He passed away at 10:30 PM,” they said. Geelani was ailing for a long time and was under house detention since 2008 at his Hyderpora residence. Last year, he announced his resignation as Hurriyat Conference (G) Chairman. Syed Ali Shah Geelani, who was born on 29 September 1929, was a Kashmiri separatist leader in Jammu and Kashmir.
